Who are we ?

The Comité Français des Aérosols was founded in 1958. We are a professional association representing and defending the interests of the aerosol industry: Our members are:

  • Vendors of aerosols products (cosmetics, cleaning products, paint, etc.)
  • Custom packaging professionals
  • Suppliers of components (metal cans, glass bottles, valves and accessories)
  • Manufacturers and distributors of gas propellants, solvents and raw materials
  • Research laboratories

The CFA is an active member of the European Aerosol Federation based in Brussels.

The CFA has a privileged relationship with different administrative departments: Industry, Economy, Consumption, Transport, Health, Environment, the AFNOR, consumer associations and the media.
It also conducts information campaigns, targeting the general public, concerning the correct use of aerosols and environmental protection.

Lastly, the CFA is a recognized meeting point between the various players in the aerosol industry. The association regularly organises information meetings and training courses on aerosol-related professions.

Michel FONTAINE (L'Oréal) is President of the CFA and chairman of the Executive Committee. The other members are:

The French aerosol industry generates turnover of some 2 billion Euros. It employs approximately 4,000 people in the production and sale of aerosols. More than 60 facilities throughout the country contribute to the French economy.
