The aerosols market

In 2004, 11 billion aerosols were produced worldwide :

• Europe 4,9 billion
• USA 4 billion
• Japan 0,6 billion
• China 0,7 billion
• Argentina 0,5 billion
• Australia 0,2 billion
• Brazil 0,2 billion
• South Africa 0,2 billion

In Europe, the market was stable; it stopped growing in China; however, it picked up again in the United States.

In Europe, the 4.9 billion aerosols produced break down as follows :

• Automotive and industrial products 7 %

With 551 million units produced, France accounts for 11.5% of European production.

Consumption accounts for 11.3% of total consumption in Europe, i.e. 10 aerosols per person per year.

Change in production

In France, the production of aerosols is growing slowly; it has increased from 530 million units 10 years ago to 550 million (on average) in recent years. This is also true for Europe where production varied between 4.2 and 4.9 billion units over the same period.
